One of the guys on the list has tried putting a
speaker
across the motor leads. I haven't tried it though.
Don't put it in series with the motor because then the
motor won't turn but it'll click and pop.

On wasp (pic in the photo section under gord_1812) The
copper wings hit the legs and it sounds a lot like a
bugs wings clicking.

gord thanks for your answer, it sort of helps, will that make it make
a continual buzz? cos i was after maybe an odd bead type of thing
like a cricket.
