wheat farmers and shouldn't stray from being primary producers. They "encourage"
us to make the "right" decision on this by slapping electronic goods with
rediculous import duties that make most Australian companies uncompetitive in a
world market.

This is unfortunate for Peter Hamer as it does mean that if you can afford the
wait, it is _so_ much cheaper to buy most BEAM or other electronic components
from O.S. The only reason to buy locally is when the company in the states wont
ship internationally....but the number companies that do that are dropping
rapidly.

The other nice thing about e-commerce (to use a much hyped up term), is that you
can often avoid paying sales tax on goods becuase you live outside the country
your buying them from. This fact is great for us consumers but bad for local
retailers who have to compete with these prices.

So.....i am sorry to say it Peter but as much as i like Robot Oz, unless i have
a time constraint when i am ordering parts, i will always buy from the US or
Canada.

Elmo
