THANKS Wilf, and Jim too, i'm not using a head, so Wilf's instructions made
more sense, now that i'm thinking about it, why does one only reverse one
motor, won't that just make it "dance"? Shouldn't both motors be reversed,
seemed to work before, THANKS AGAIN!

Nah, on the two motor, when one is reversed, you basically have a system 180
degrees out of phase. This makes it reverse. I wondered about that too. When
I hooked up Ambler's motors and watched it walk the first time, I wondered if
I could get a smoother gait from reversing the front motor. After all, it was
just moving up and down. When I reversed the polarity to the motor, the bot
backed up like crazy. If you watch the position of the legs relative to one
another, you will see what it's doing.

See ya,
Jim

Ouch. Look at the price. The question in my mind is, can I take the guts
out of a $15 CDN motion detector (the kind that turns on an outdoor
light) and use the detector and circuitry from that?

call them animals? My goal is just to make something that brings joy, I
don't care what you call it. Although robot really isnt clearly defined in
our community, in my mind I would say it its a stretch for most of these
devices, but they are all important to make a complete beam eco-system.

13503 Sun, 16 Apr 2000 17:01:16 EDT walker problems beam@sgiblab.sgi.com beam@sgiblab.sgi.com Hey every one

I was working on walker that sences and the light and at cetian times
recharges the battery when the light is bright enough, but the plans say to
attach layer 1 and layer 2. They don't use DIPs so I don't know how to stack
or attach them to each other since each one is a sperate circut. If any one
has any help it would be great.
And if any one knows a site that teaches how to design your own circut that
would help me a lot too. Thanks for your help

Yes technically a LED blinker won't really go down as
robot with most Robotisists but to people who have
never seen a transistor in there lives or a soldering
iron. For them it's a pretty amazing thing to get a
LED to blink. And you saying that blinkers are stupid
is ok with me because that's your opinion, but here's
a question to you. What kind of bots do you have?
huh? And it better be more than a photovore.

moving together in the same rythm AGAIN.
