size=3D2>i saw a=20
program on this.  one of the better teams had a paddle that =
spun=20
instead of actually kicking the ball.  this gave it a stronger =
kick and=20
a faster one.  the goally will be the hardest to build.  =
it will=20
need to be fast, able to track the ball, and stay within  the=20
boundaries of tthe goal box so it doesn't leave it open.  this =
is going=20
to need an excellent trimpot to have it be able to see the ball off =
to the=20
side and yet move in front of it.  get some pictures when your =
done and=20
schematics.  we might ba able to help or improve it.  i'm =
sure=20
everyone will be willing to help out.

Hi everyone,

The BEAM Robotics Soccer Project is still under =
way -=20
working to
wards our target of entering Robocup =
2000 and=20
kicking some university ass (or maybe not). We have two new members, =
Elmo,=20
and Dr. Michael Mallis.

We are developing our color detection systems =
and we are=20
making some progress. Another robot platform design is also under=20
way.

Elmo and I also got to got to Melbourne Uni. and =
check out=20
there cool team, including a bunch of sony robotic dogs! It looks =
like we=20
may team up with them to share ideas and resources too. Don't forget =
we also=20
own Wilf, well maybe not, but he has contributed greatly. Anyway =
thats about=20
it, any questions, comments?

David
