I'm embarrassed to say that they're still being firmed up. Will have the
rest of the rules finished and online by the end of the weekend.

"Um, no - that's H,R,Y,N,K,I,W. No, not K,I,U,U, K,I,_W_. Yes,
that's right. Yes, I know it looks like "HOCKYRINK." Yup, only
2 vowels. Pronounciation? _SMITH_".

Lets see... at WCRG they are going to have....
BEAM -
Solaroller
Regular --- 1 meter track, first to finish wins
There-And-Back --- 1 meter track, get to the end, bump the wall,
then return to starting line. (maybe a switch that reverses the
motor leads when it bumps the wall)
Photovore
The rules have changed to make this a very BOT vs. BOT
competition. *Make sure you read the new rule set. It is a square
with a strong light shining down onto the middle of the square.
The two competitors place there bots in oppisite corners of the
square. Once the comp starts they will make their way to the
middle of the ring, but in their way is one small cylinder. They
must be able to navigate around the cylinder to get to the middle
where they will fight-for-the-light with the other bot. This is
going to be cool because they will be getting tangled up and
fighting to stay in the center of the light pool. I think the way
it works is whichever one was closest to the center of the ring
the longest after 3 minutes wins.
Aquavore
There is a one meter long, underwater race track. But... in the
dead center there is a 6 inch (1/4" thick?) barrier that stands
vertical. Four inches above the water, two below. Your "solar" bot
needs to be able to either dive under the barrier, or go over (you
get more points) to reach the finish line. This is a timed event.
Legged Race
If I remember from India the track is about 10-15 feet long. Not
really a width. Basically first walker to the finish line wins. Be
sure that your walker can run strait! In India I would have won by
SO much but my walker made it 1 foot from the line, finishing it's
turn and continued into the crowd before making another big circle
and again missing the line. Kinda sucked.
Innovations Machines
Some cool, useful BEAM device. Let you minds fly...
Robo-Art
The "A" in BEAM. I've won this event in past years with my RoboFly
butterfly bots.
SolarSpeeder Races
Because the Solarbotics kit uses a much to big a value capacitor
for racing they have actually made an event just for them. I think
it's distance based. Line them all up and see which one goes the
farthest.
Well those are the BEAM events. Have fun and I hope to see you there.
PS: For all of you entering in the sumo event, watch out. Our previous sumo
"Death Metal", having been renamed to "Dead metal" after the competition set
us up for this years sumo... "Silent Bob" who is going to kick some butt!
Muahahahaha
