A number of other folks have already chimed in on this (w.r.t. tools & the
like), so I'll try not to repeat too much.

As far as parts go, you might want to check out the FAQ at
http://www.beam-online.com. In particular, check out the list of "common"
parts & where to find them:

http://www.beam-online.com/Robots/FAQ/FAQ.html#Find part xxxxxx

(the link may or may not transfer correctly to your browser; make sure you
get the entire line, including "xxxxxx").

In my experience, you can find multiple vendors for MOST beam parts; good
solar cells seem to be the toughest to find. For these, about all you can
do is send a big wad-o-cash to solarbotics, so you can build up a handy
inventory of parts & not have to wait for delivery before you can build
your latest brainchild (those of us "south of the border" have to deal with
some pretty significant shipping times from solarbotics).

Eric (also a Beam-newbie)
