I haven't gotten the vibrabot to work well - it's a problem with the
mechanics. If you can think of a good solution then please let me know!
Just to confuse the issue, I'm not using a FRED circuit for the vibra-bot
but a custom circuit designed specially for that application. Don't let
that stop you from using a 1381 or FRED popper circuit for your vibrabot
though! There's no reason why that wouldn't work.

As for FRED vs 1381 - I haven't built a 1381 popper yet so I couldn't tell
you how well it compares. I would imagine that FRED would be a little bit
less efficient, and a bit more chaotic in its behaviour. Last night I put
FRED down on a sheet of paper with a heap of electronic components
scattered around. Occasionally it would get stuck because a component
would lift that motor off the ground slightly - enoughso that traction
wasn't possible. I imagine that a 1381 popper would keep using that motor
forever.. but not FRED! Occasionally, because of the difference in phase
and period of the FLEDS, the 'wrong' motor fired, clearing the obstacle
out from underneath and allowing FRED to run around, clearing a little
circle of components.

Better than a 1381? Probably not. But it is different, and it is
different enough to warrant further investigation.

built (chiu style) and the legs will be on their way, i just need a circuit!
I really want to have an intelligent walker, so i'd like it to be
phototrophic, BUT, due to my lack of complete understanding of the bicore
circuitry, my attemps have failed at creating a good circuit. I's thinkin
bout doing a light seeking head as a master bicore to the two motor bicores,
BUT, my circuits have failed to work! *help* The only octal buffer inverter
chip i have is the 74HTC240, so if you have a circuit that will work with
that, i'd greatly appreciate it!!!!!!

Wrong.
and when you reply to the message. you are just replying to the list.
