can you use a 74hc240 and 245 instead of 74HCT240 and 245??????
and what is the big difference with the middle numbers.

Heres a little circut that seems to work, Now im no electronics genius
but i can scrape by most of the time, certinly feel free to make your
sugestions.
Tried a Zenier acros the pezio, but the thing stops working if you
do that.
The movement/flexion of the pezio is limited by the plastic case it
came in.
You can change the sensitivity by altering the 10m resistor.
Another thing to watch ou for is that the pezio is polarised, the
metal side (where the feeler connects to) is the negative or
ground side. however some interesting things happen when you
reverse the pezio.
