Subject: [alt-beam] Almost Complete Walker Update

Hi Guys,

Update on the almost complete walker, Kyle's anyway. Breadboarding is
complete, it took Kyle about 90 minutes to put it together and debug
it--Once we came back from downtown to pick up the 74HC240 chips and a
few resisters. He ran into one little problem, one of the caps was mixed
up on a pin location, but nothing serious at all once he traced
everything backwards. He is ready to start transferring the circuit plus
H-bridges to pref board. That should keep him locked up in his room for
a few hours, he checks everything twice before moving on to the next
component. Cautions to a fault.

He is almost ready to start building the frame, mount the servo's etc.
That's when I am allowed to help out.

I have to admit, as a father watching him work, I really was nervous on
this one. After all the postings of late asking questions about this
circuit, and the problems encountered I figured on at least a few
failures on the breadboard side, but it is going really well. I can only
hope everything goes as smooth on the actual walker.

Someone, sorry I forgot who, posted how to add the LEDS to the
circuit--Kyle thanks you very much.

Now he is talking about a three motor walker, I told him to wait until
this one was built and walking before jumping in the next nightmare--not
that he listens.

Thx to everyone for the help so far,
Dave
