Maybe what you should do is host a monthly contest where people send in
pictures of their robots and a brief description and have people vote on the
robot. This could kinda take over the idea of people sending in their bots to
be in an RJP. You could have the different robot types be individual things,
then you could come up with something like a big tutorial or article on the
winning robot.

Another thing is that there's never enough tutorials out there, you could
come up with some nice and bizzare tutorials that might not be already out
there! Hope things go well for you at beambotix!

chip! I was wondering, does anybody have a good description or freeform
tutorial on the 1381 DLSE solar engine, beam-online doesn't have that shtuff
up yet, any response (whether or not it really answers my question) is
welcome!

I didn't think to read the specs . . . . ..55V??? Woa!
Ya, the mA are great, but they're fragle, and won't
work themselves, so I wouldn't recomend them!

voltage amplifier circuit that Wilf put up earlier, i saw that and it gave me
new hope, .55 x 3 equals 1.6v, not too bad. Yeah they are fragile, but i'm
gonna mount it on something flat so that it doesn't break, i'll do all this
stuff when i'm bored!

are good to have. The more content the better. I know
that doesn't really help you out all that much, but
its the truth.

Alloy. Basically this means that when the stuff is heated up, it goes back to
its original state (or so i gather). Problems, the stuff is semi-expensive,
but i suppose that a $19 1-meter roll of this stuff would replace several $10
and up servos, so if you buy it make sure to make more than one bot! the
other thing is how you use it. The best motion would probably be created if
you used a 4 nv bicore and had a two wires per leg to pull it in either
direction. BEWARE, this stuff supposedly takes up quite a bit of current, and
you need a few lengths run back and forth to get anywhere near good torque!
