Subject: [alt-beam] Quadrapod, BEAMac, Spyder, Megavore, Walkman Jr!!!

I've been claiming, bragging, and saying that I was going to make
Quadrapod, a BEAM (or BEAM CPU hybrid) based 4 legged 8 motor walker
using a Lynxmotion Quadrapod frame.

I have a Spyder frame, but no driver circuitry yet

Megavore and BEAMac are just sitting on their little butts not rolling
around or anything.

Walkman Jr. doesn't even have it's coils yet!

Well...

That's just changed!!!

I HAVE purchased all the parts, as well as a new video card (the GOOD
one I've wanted since so long ago), as well as upgraded my Macintosh to
384 MB of RAM. I still have a massive excess, and will likely go for a
second hard drive next.

I also can EAT!!! YES!!! FOOOOOOD!!! :)

Stay tuned for many future bots to appear as school passes by!

second almost. Turned out to be a really bad solder joint due to an overly
thick gauge wire that i used to connect my caps, you might check those
joints. cause remember, a photopopper is essentially two SE's hooked
together, I'd have to agree with evandude on the solderjoints, good luck!

What the heck are these rotating suckers everybody is talking about?

micro piezzo buzzer, radio shack, you could make an interesting addition to
your photovore. kinda like your photovore yells "cut that out!" when another
one bumps into it! hehe. Cool idea for that vibration sensor, i might try an
construct one myself!

11731 Mon, 13 Mar 2000 17:03:54 EST [alt-beam] Turbots beam@sgiblab.sgi.com BUDSCOTT@aol.com I'm lookin at startin on my fifth bot, i've done two photovores, a symet, and
a walker, in that order. So i's thinkin bout making a turbot, they look
really interesting and just like a fun thing to try out. The problem is that
i can't for the life of me get decent geared motors that are small enough for
a photovorous robot. What i might do is take the BEAMant circut and make a
nonBEAMish turbot (please don't kill me). I have solar panels and all but the
just arent sufficient enough and i don't even have motors for my KTU (kitchen
timer unit, yes i've already built one) Gearboxes. Do any of you guys have a
decent web page with a description of how a turbot should be constructed, I
have an idea but it isn't hardly what i need to really started on a decent
robot. Thanks in advance!

I had bad problems with them. I sent a check, he said it never got there, I
cancelled the check and he wouldnt talk to me anymore. He said this in an
e-mail shortly in reply to "can I pay for this with a credit card"
"I think you should just grow up and go away"
I still dont get it, and he still wont talk to me. Others have had a good
time with him, but I would say watch out and dont give him your credit card
number
