Subject: [alt-beam] It walks!!!! Well sort of......

Just got my first walker done, though it probably won't have a real long li=
fe. It's a Chiu style 2 motor with Futaba servos. The only glitch in the =
works can be attributed to sloppy soldering. The current theory I have is =
that I have Vcc leaking to Nv four. The core acts fine when I pull the 245=
chip but Nv four likes to add an extra pulse about every third cycle, or s=
hort cycles terribly occasionaly when the whole works are going. The behav=
ior is fairly interesting , since this causes the bot to pause in mid strid=
e, like a dear caught in the headlights, and then act like it has the hicku=
ps.....eventually Nv 4 sends out another errant pulse and the circuit goes =
back to a single pulse state.... result,... the bot walks and pauses at r=
andom intervals, and often takes off again in unexpected directions.. Any =
way the core was my first free form and this is my first bot, so I'd take f=
lashing LEDS as a sign of victory at this point. Besides, I've seen it wo=
rk on the bread board so...... I'll guess I'll go practice soldering and =
free form another core... After that I may try the BEAMANT circuit

Hurray!!!
