Subject: [alt-beam] Shokbot video (quicktime version)


I'm rather confused about the video showing the Shokbot, found on the
download page on Dave Hrynkiw's Solarbotics site. It appears to be
composed of two separate sections, which in itself isn't particularly
confusing. However, it doesn't look like robot in both sections is the
same one.

In the first section, the front legs don't appear to extend very far ahead
of the robot. In the second section, they do and the tips of the legs are
colored yellow. The robot in the first section really doesn't appear to be
very effective. The one in the second half looks like it is doing an
exceptionally good job of crawling uphill.

Any comments, Dave?
