Subject: [alt-beam] old SE

Hello,
on alot of tildens old SE powered bots I see that they have 22k
resistors. Anyonek now the circuit? I happend accross a few of these nice old
22k's and thought I would make an aesthetically pleasing SE for a change
rather then making it as small as possible.

ok, I must be crazy. What "pin sockets" are you talking about? The closest
I
could figure are the sockets for CPU's and cables. But neither of them have
what you're refering to. I did find some almost capable sockets in the
small
cable that connects a cdrom drive and sound card.. but it only has three in
each end.

The only other thing I can think of is maybe on *old* boards. If you could
clear that up I'd appreciate it.

Well, if you are willing to spend lots of money there are companies like
Augat/Thomas & Betts (http://www.sourceresearch.com/augat.htm for instance)
that manufacture SIP, DIP and other style sockets. They are distributed by
a number of companies:

>Allied Electronics
>Arrow Electronics
>Avnet Electronics Marketing
>CDS/Nedco
>Nu-Way Electronics
>Pioneer Standard Electronics

but I have no doubt that other company make such sockets. For what it is
worth, you can probably go to Rat Shack and get some by heaven-knows-what mfr.
