I can accept that if the electronics is not specifically
programmed for those conditions.

couldn't agree more. That should qualify as learning.

In a way, a robots life span is determined by its battery life. Each tim=
e it
is turned on, it is like birth. When the battery runs out, that in effec=
t is
the death of the robot. In essence, if we recharge the battery and switc=
h it
back on, we have just reincarnated a robot. To allow it to retain inform=
ation
from its previous "lives" would be like us knowing we were the king of fr=
ance
in 1608 and we retain the knowledge of how to rule a country. A better w=
ay to
approach this would be to find a way to prolong the lives of our robots. =
Remeber, some insects only live a day before they die. It seems our robo=
ts
are the same way.

11392 Mon, 06 Mar 2000 11:01:00 -0800 [alt-beam] The Vault alt-beam@eGroups.com "Droidmakr" I'd like to make a suggestion.
I think it would be a great idea if the
vault were filled with tutorials, and papers
like Wilf's head paper, Wouters bicore paper,
Wilf's thought experiment and the like.
It would save a lot of time trying to search
around for things of that nature.
What do you think, Can I get a show of hands?
So long,
