Subject: [alt-beam] Pager motor troubles

Hi guys,
Well I finally went ahead and finished my first photovore, based on the one
from Chiu's page, but I've got problems. It seems to work fine, except for
the photodiodes being overwhelmed, but I'm going to fix that. I really
needed to adjust the trimpot, and so I fiddled with that until I got my
heat shrink for the motor shaft. Anyway, after I put the heat shrink on the
motor shafts and tried to set the trimpot, I noticed that one of my pager
motors wasn't working at all. I took off the motor and hooked it up to a
good battery, no spinning. What do you think I did to wreck this motor? Or
is it wrecked at all? I am missing the "cap" off of the back of the motor
that seems to hold the other end of the shaft, but I had it working
beforehand without this piece on. The motor is a 1701 Namiki from
Solarbotics, when they still came with the weights on.

Thanks,

Mike, AKA Flaming Headphones
