You can do it, but with battery operation, you can afford to be more
"sloppy" with power, and not make a circuit as power efficient. IE: I could
drive a L298 motor driver from a SE, but I would be much better off
building my own FET-based motor H-bridge as it will be MUCH more efficient
and better suited to the design.

2 vowels. Pronounciation? _SMITH_".

I have a 74HCT04 I was going to use for a IRPD project a while ago, but
it didn't work out.
Can this chip be used in the Free form bicore tutorial on the BEAM online
website?

they do than solar cells are.
Sure you can get yourself a nice large array of cells, and thats fine. If
you can equal a battery with a solarcell,
then by all means do it. There are just more things that must be taken into
constideration with solarcells.
For example, what happens in low light? or Where are we going to put all
those solar cells?

Good morning, I have been studying the Microcore circuits and the Walker
Tutorials and plans and I have a very basic question......all things being
equal, and they seldom are, why is it not possible, or at least easy to use
a solar cell instead of a battery pack?......volts is volts and current is
current.......if it matches the spec called for in the design, why not?
Thanks......JWS.
