Subject: [alt-beam] need help choosing power supply........

HI.

If you have ordered a catalog from MJPA (ww.mjpa.com) in the past days,
if you look on page 73, lower left they have a switching power supply.
The doc for it reads:

"Basic step up switching power supply circuit designed around the single
ic. Selectable 1.5 or 3 VDC input. Provides a fixed output of 9v @ 18ma
from a 1.5v "aa" cell.Solder pads for input & output . 1 cell & 2 cell
"AA" holders supplied."

Would this work for BEAM robotic experimentation?

I am a newbie of 2 weeks to the BEAM scene, currently at University
and in need of an intelligent hobby. Enter BEAM, something that has
so far interested everyone that has asked what is it ( my first cybug
! ) as well as proving extremely interesting, almost addictive.

If there is anyone 'out there' also in the UK hello, where are you.
To everyone else, I look forward to reading about any further
developments, particulary of the aquatic designs.

Regards to all
