Hey all,

Another SYMET enters the world.

Friday we took apart one of the 3V Hankscraft gear motors. They contain
a nice little gear box, mostly plastic and very light wieght, that might
be good for a two motor walker. Found a place in Toronto to pick up a
few more of these gearmotors so next weekend we hope to be working on
the walker. The motor is very effeicent, runs off any of the solar
engines we have tested so far.

Kyle and I agreeded that the motor is too bulky for a walker so we'll
replace the motors and just use the gear box. Of course with an
unexpected motor in hand Kyle was off to his work table to make a second
SYMET, after a few tests to find out what caps he wanted to use, and the
soldering iron was hot, it took him about half an hour to make HANK
(Named after the motor) runs great in low light and well in the direct
sun so far with just two 1000 uf caps. The motor is wide enough that
there is no need to use the caps for balence or skid plates.

Now Klye wants wants a RJP for his three Bots, I told him his bed would
make a nice base and that construct could right away. The first
step--move your blankets into the bath tub. I don't think the humor was
lost him.
