Subject: [alt-beam] Re: Why are we so arrogant?BEAM: Tendency toward miniaturization
First off, when I in my previous postings write about the difficulties in
creating antropomorphic machines I am by no means idealising us as great /
superior / intelligent / on top of our evolution. I agree in every single
aspect of your characterisation of the destructive nature we have been
displaying throughout history. That is exactly the reason we need to ask
critically on what to do with technology and why we should do so. I may be
naively idealistic and utopic, but it's time we started asking these
questions instead of merely accepting / ignoring the problem by saying that
it is "just our nature".

I don't think you can have one without the other. Dang, I'm tired right
now - I've just lost a pretty good point. ... Aw cr*p. I think I'd better go
to sleep. I'll get back on this.
Cheers,
