What type of lithium batteries are these? I mean could you describe the
size? To me it looks like the batteries are not good enough in some
way. If these are the coin cells, the mAH would not be sufficient for a
walker. Simple Lithiums (Lithium-Iodide chemistry?) are not good for
high rates of discharges. They can give long shelf life and long slow
discharges. Lithium ion batteries are different - the ones used in
laptops etc.
Try replacing with alkalines & see.
