Subject: [alt-beam] Re: The jump-noid
Don't know if this helps or not, but I have an interesting solenoid that
*could* possibly work.
It's about 1" long and 1/2" in dia. It's mounted on a bracket with a
spring-loaded piece of metal on one end. The electromagnet, instead of
being hollow, has a solid piece that attracts the spring-loaded part when
engergized. So, in a way, the efficiency is partly based on the spring
tension.
Anyway, I thought it might be a better way of employing the pulling legs.

(wider is better) because of the 3in wide harness. The solenoid itself,
unfortunately, should be a pull, thats okay. I can mount the solenoid in
backwards, and make a special armature attachment that will extend from the
armature to the back of the solenoid, this will simulate a push solenoid.
Hopefully i should have the parts by the end of this week, possibly, and
finish the bot by the w!
eek after. total coolness. Keep on BEAMin!
