I use the stuff from Maplin on the shafts of my pager motors - works a
treat.

I also used some to make "shades" for the photodetectors :-)

Its worth spending a bit more for good stuff cos I find that the cheap stuff
doesnt shrink as well.

Regards,
Bob

This will be like a roller blader using ski poles to push him/herself.
You won't need stabilizers with these if the angle of the solenoids is
right.

Basically, the shiny stuff sucks, and the dull (more expencive stuff) is what you want to use. It is definately worth the extra cash.

10196 Mon, 14 Feb 2000 10:30:49 PST [alt-beam] heat shrink??? try this ... beam@sgiblab.sgi.com "Timothy Flytch" Have you ever seen colored tubing??? I't a simple process that make an R/C
car look tops... It's easy to do too ... Now I'm not talking about a toy car
but rather a care that is manly for show... takes about 60+ hours to put one
together and it never sees dirt!
But there is a neat little trick to pretty up the wiring harness, bumpers,
roll bars, tie roods, tork rods, etc... take a length of tubing the type you
get at any aquarium store and die it with liquid rit die... it comes out
translucent and the color is all the way through the plastic... you then cut
it to length and slide it onto roll bars, bumpers, or slit it and cover your
servo wires... Looks great! Polishes with light oil... WD-40
Thought #2
When I worked at EBinc. we used non heat shrink tubbing for sodered wire
connection covering... In the body of a silhouette guitar the inside is
spade with a conductive paint... To expedite assembly there was a pigtail
on the pcb that connected to the pig tail on the jack... we found that just
a simple pice of tubing worked best fro these... just slide it up one wire
... soder the two wires together then before the joint has cooled slide the
tubing down over it... looks itself in place ... we did this because the
guys in set up could not be trusted with a heat gun around a $1200.00
guitar...LOL...

actually "something" in particular. One of the curious things about BEAM is
that someone calls their bot something, and then the bot's name typically
enters the lexicon as a particular something. Oh well.
