I built about the simplest one you can make using a
cassette tape motor and a pencil eraser. If you look
on my page at:
http://www.geocities.com/leemon1/Bots/beambots.html
you can see it. Click the link on the description and
you can see exactly how I laid out the parts on the
back of the solar cell.
Others, most notably Bob Shannon, have built some
really complex symets -- this simple one might be a
good starting point for you though.
