hey, about that hover locomotion, you don't have to use a fan, I built a bot that had a pager motor (with the little vibrator weight) and when it vibrated, it was quite low friction!! (Just another idea...)

30 RPM at 5 volts, which is a bit "enthusiastic" when triggered at a full
charge. I would strongly recommend 15~20 rpm for best effect.
