What I do is:

Get some blu-tack (stuff you put posters on walls with), and put it in a big
lump over the end of the weight. Put another lump on the end of the motor
that doesn't have a shaft sticking out.

Get a dressmakers pin and cut it off to about half its original length, and
throw away the pointy end.

Stick the half-pin into the blu-tack on the weight end so that it rests
inside the hole that's in the weight - as in, it's in line with the motor
shaft.

Grab the weight with a pair of pliers, and hit the end of the pin with a
hammer. The motor should fall to the bench.

Now remove the blu-tack from both the weight end and the butt end, retrieve
the little white stopper that used to be on the butt end of the motor, and
stick it back where it belongs.

Yep, I did that to two motors before I figured out the pliers method. At
least now I know what's inside a pager motor :-)

Hope this helps,

Ben
