Subject: [alt-beam] PSH V2 - havin fun
I know I'm a bit late, but.... :)
My PSH V2 works great on the breadboard, but I just soldered it up on a
proto board and it doesn't work at all! The LEDS are both full on (Or so
it looks). No response from pot-tweeking, or disconnecting the second
half of the circuit (The NU part, I beleive). All connections are
checked and checked and checked! ANy one with similar results? Wilf?
Thanks!
Kyle

I spent weeks disecting Wilfs circuit in order to properly understand its
operation. Did a white board or three full of schematic squiggles. Got a
good design sorted out and working on my bread board.....super sensitive to
my presence. It would detect me leaning in to adjust the trim pots when i
was about a meter or more away from it. Drew up my design so i could wire up
a chip bed with the circuit and.......NADA! Not a damn thing. The
oscillation stage seems to keep ticking but the whole front end went dead.
Months later i still haven't been able to get a replicated circuit working
on a bread board like the old one did. I am doubting my own ability to
reproduce my design. I am wondering if i had it wired all wrong on the bread
board and _fluked it_ working.
My inital wiring i did do wrong. I drew up my wiring diagram looking from
the top down (like you do when you look at your breadboard), but when i
wired it up i was working from the underneath of the chip socket and so had
it all arse-backward......*DOH*
My PSH hasn't been finished and its six months after i started it. Mid you i
understand the design down to the last component.....but that does nothing
for the moral.
