9403 Wed, 19 Jan 2000 23:38:13 EST [alt-beam] LCD of a Pager ~ question beam@sgiblab.sgi.com Meabadboy@aol.com Hello,

I did finnaly find someone at a pager store that was nice enough to get me to
the right person who could tell me the name of the person who could get me a
few pagers that were in their terms "beyond repair" so that I could get some
of these pager motors ~ whew.

But I havent teste them to see if they will work ~ I still would like tyo
know if anyone has a source to buy these little motors "NEW" ~ useing used is
often a designers nightmare.

Anyway ~ I have never taken one of these pagers apart before ~ and after
looking at the web page concerning the LCD name tage I looked at all these
small LCD's and wondered ~ dose anyone know anything about the specs,
connection diagram ~ etc. ~ there isnt any markings on any of the one's I
took apart tonight.

Any clue would be appriciated on this ~ I hate to see things go to waste.

Steve

Hello,
Thank you for the information, but I already knew about beam-online and the=
=20
other site on geocities [Chiu's? Ed.] and I had noticed the tutorial and=20
the "almost complete Walker ". I'd definitely decided to start with one of=
=20
these two designs, in order to learn more and to find hardware. I am in the=
=20
area of Montreal, but I haven't started to look for serious sources of=20
hardware. For the moment, I know of only one which is Addisson, [whoever=20
they are. Ed.] I haven't had time to look there very carefully but it=20
seems to be a true gold mine full with recycled, inexpensive parts.
Anyways, if you learn more, msg me

p.s. I'll bet that a thousand people could do a better translation than I=20
have...
