Subject: [alt-beam] Re: more on motors and video

Hey, I've got some of those pancake motors from old 5 1/4" disk drives.
But all the pancake motors I've ever seen are mounted on circuit boards.
Do you have to modify them, or how do you hook up to them.
I agree with Max-even if those motors Solarbotics sells are from
industrial stock, not surplus, $10 is a bit steep for most people,
especially TEENAGERS like myself who are strapped for cash. And the $15
motor is even more over-priced.
But I guess they don't sell in very high volume, so they have to mark
them up more...

Shifting topics:
That camera idea is so cool. And so simple!
Has anyone ever seen the Cognachrome robotic vision system? It's very
complex, and based on a 68332 microprocessor! Granted, it processes
color, but it's amazing what you can do with simple analog circuits, eh?
I've got to try that...
And I bet with an ADC you could use it with traditional mobile robots, as
well.

P.s. Aren't you happy I mentioned Marlin P. Jones, Dennison?

Has anyone had a chance to play around with
Wilf's 3M3D circuit?
I have the thing blinkin away on the breadboard
and it really is something to see!
I was jus wundering, I know how to make longer
and shorter pulses (per Wilf's instructions)
but Wilf,
what if i want a slight pause BETWEEN the pulsers or rather,
after each pulse? I was thinking giving the bot's frame a
minimal break between vibrations!
