For your amusement. Reported by LEANNE YOHEMAS-HAYES, OTTAWA (CP)

"Small power disruptions in Alberta and Goose Bay, Nfld., were
determined not to be Y2K related, said Guy McKenzie, the
government Y2K spokesman. Both power outages were fixed quickly."

"It was the same in Nova Scotia, with a bit of a twist. Just after
midnight a New Year's reveller stepped outside his Guysborough
County home and fired a celebratory blast from a 12-gauge shotgun
right into his service line."

Now THAT was Y2K related .

8763 Sat, 01 Jan 2000 23:55:32 -0800 [alt-beam] Site update beam@sgiblab.sgi.com Bruce Robinson Happy New Year all.

I finally updated (i.e., rebuilt) my rather stale Beam Web Index site,
and I'm actively looking for new robots to list on it.

This site is basically a list of links to other people's specific
robots. It's divided up into the basic types of robot motion (e.g.
"walkers") and then further subdivided into different categories (e.g.
"4 motor walkers").

Unlike other pages of links, these links don't take you to entire web
sites; instead they take you to links to specific robots. So if you want
to see what other people have done with 5 motor walkers, take a look
here.

The links include a brief bit of information about the target page, plus
the size of graphic images on the page (in case you have a slow
browser).

I know there are lots more sites to add (yes. Richard, I WILL get to
you). I decided first to check all the existing links and update (or
disconnect) the broken ones.

Enjoy,

Bruce
