The attached file comes from http://www.medonis.com/ultrasonic.html
Could there be a way to get a positive or negative output by summing the outputs
of two microphones similar to the circuit but without the chip?

The formulae are the exact reverse of resistors.

Series:

1/Ct = 1/C1 + 1/C2

Parallel:

Ct = C1 + C2

content-transfer-encoding: 7bit

Hi everyone.

I've had absolutely no success in finding a 1381 voltage detector locally,
so I was going to put together a ciruit using a FLED instead. But I can't
find any actual photovore cicuits that use a FLED. Does anyone have a
pre-made schematic, or at least a hint on how to do this?

I've never been completely clear on *exactly* how the 1381 works in the
circuit, so I'm clueless on how to improvise.

Thanks,
Phillip
