I remember hearing about a BEAM IRC channel. Is it still active? What's the server and channel?

Sure. I went to Radio Shack and got some brass female pin inserts. The
kind
you use to make your own computer cable connectors. They come several to
a
bunch on a thin strip of brass like a model car part tree. The female
ones
have a split up the sides of one end. I took the split end and pushed it
over
the location of the missing pad. One side of the pin on top of the cell,
and
the other side directly in contact with the pad area on the bottom of
the
cell. I then put a very small amount of super glue on the area where the
pin
met the top of the glass to hold it in place. I then soldered the bottom
strip of the pin to the pad area, leaving enough solder to make up for
the
missing pad. I then super glued the solder blob to the back of the cell.
It
worked like a charm. Look at Carbot 3 on my site, and give a good look
at the
pins on the business side of the solar cell. Hope this helps. Let me
know if
you have any more questions.
See ya,
Jim
