Hey ian, sounds like you got some of those Space quality cell's. :-) Pricey
stuff, and as I guess you found out, built for current and not voltage. I
don't know if you can get some DC-DC converters like your talking about. If
anyone manfactures them, Maxim would be the people to talk to. As I
understand it, they are the leaders in this feild.

Hi BEAMers, I just got my hands on a small batch or really nice solar cells
(try 6x more efficient than the SunCeram cells). The only problem is that
they are only on average .54v @ 324mA so I'm going to need some kind of
step-up DC-DC converter. I found some Maxim ones that will run off of .7v
but I'd like to be able to use a single cell. Does anyone know of a chip or
circuit that will convert .5v to 3.3v-5v??? Thanks for your help.
