Thats a good thing if your battery has a high internal impedance, like some
of the (physcially) small lithium vanadium coin cells.
Batteries are actually very complicated components.

Yeah, I often use batteries and solar cells rather than caps. There are all
sorts of interesting
tricks you can play. Try it out!
