Subject: [alt-beam] Pager motors - how to get the damn weights off ?? :-)

I was given a bunch of these tiny motors, but they still have the little
weighs attached.

I have tried gripping the weight in a vice and punching the shaft out, but
it wont shift and
I don't want to risk damaging the motor.

I have managed to use a pair of heavy duty wire cutters to crack the weights
near where
the shaft is and get them off that way without hurting the shaft, but there
_MUST_ be a
better way :-)

I notice that the shafts have a rough surface (presumably to grip the shaft
better) and I
assume this is why I wasn't able to punch it out.

How have others managed ????

Also - what do people use to tip the ends of the shafts on "poppers" ??? I
have some
liquid latex but I'm not sure if that would stay on for long.

Regards,
Bob
