I did something similar a while ago with my Alf circuit.
http://wollongong.apana.org.au/~ben/alf
It uses LEDs as light sensors, and the difference in the voltage levels
makes one motor turn on in preference to the other.
The whole SE, discriminator and latch is one 74HC04 - so no need for op-amps
at all.

That's the one I remember. Thanks for the jog to the ole gray matter.
See ya,

well right now i am going to solarized it using a 1381J cause thats the only
one i have and i using either a 1F cap or a 4700uF cap....

It's DuBro it is an american company that repackages hardware for marketing
in hobby shops...
The item is a "wheel collar" available at any hardware store...
hope this helps...

Has anyone seen those friendly robots. They are programmed to have emotions=
and have a head which can give faces (anger, sadness) each emotion isn't c=
annned, but isn't random either it, it computes enough so that you can't te=
ll what it will do next.
Could have some great BEAM applications since the a nrevous network would l=
end itself nicely to this application.

Dan, cool idea !!!
it seems to me that you would want to track the angle coming out of the
prism ... just to keep it simple...
and like nike says "just do it" and I want to see a pic ... ok???

well, you better make sure your 1F is rated at 5V or higher. and also that
it is a AL cap.
i found this out the hard way...
