hmm sounds familiar :-) well, just check the solder
joints and ALL connections going to and from the
3906... this means your SE is not latching properly.
My newest photopopper has this problem from time to
time, but it seems that when a person comes close to
him he works again, maybe magnetic fields? oh well,
he only does it once in a while... I think it's
mentally retarded.

The eyes on stalks is a great way to prototype, though. You can do a lot
of playing around with angles and depths of shade without committing
yourself to a rather inflexible design.

That head design was my second. First one had recessed holes parallel to
each other, with the front face cut at an angle. It worked, but version
2 was much better.

I was thinking about the complexities of cutting a block of plastic just
so, and it suddenly occured to me that you could accomplish exactly the
same thing with a piece of round material. Bore a hole down the centre
to thread out the leads of the photocells. then drill your eye holes in
at whatever angle you want.

No need to stick with plastic, either. A piece of hardwood dowel would
work just fine.

Bruce

Hi Evan, this sounds like harmonics??? ... could the size (mass) of the lead
be effecting the input... the chip is sensitive to vibration... and adding a
very small amount of mass could change it's resonates... I've hade this
problem on other projects...

SO many links and not enough data, you where not joking....

if the links on the welcome page go to empty pages why not disable

Also based on the link structure might I recommend a bit more consolida=

There is not a hell of a lot there at the moment but if you follow the

News links you will find my latest PSH circuit progress report. I have

also hosted a copy of Wilfs power smart tutorial in both word and .pdf

format (html should be up there too soon).

I will add some more photos and the first of my tutorials over the next

few days.

Let me know if you find icky bits.

Because, compared to the Chloroplast SE, the 1381 SE is a square wheel.
