Subject: [alt-beam] The Poseidon Project

The Poseidon Project

The Aquabot, Poseidon, is still in its design phase. R&D is currently taking
place in the area of Solar Engines. To date no viable solutions have been
found. Development of a 1381 SE continues:

The SE circuit is identical to the Solar Roller Speeder kit from
Solarbotics, all the same parts and values. The motor just buzzes. It seems
to be oscillating, perhaps it is not latching. I have swapped and checked
the trannies but they are fine. I have tried different motors, same result.
I put in a smaller cap and the motor "pops". In fact if I put a 2200uF cap
in parallel with a 0.33F cap then the motor gives short strong bursts but
never latches properly. My Speeder works great; it has a lot of power. I
need power.
