I posted a message a while back about doing this. I got my gearboxes
from a set of very cheap Disney windup toys. You need some additional
gearing to get to the RPM and torque we want for a walker. Might not be
worth the trouble. 9 gram (1/3 oz.) servos are generally available for
less than 20 USD. Of course they also consume more power. My pager
motor/gear combos have a useful torque at 3 volts, so they could be
solar powered. I have ordered some 3782 cells to se if they are able to
power a walker.
