It was so funny but I guess you had to >be there.

That really wasn't a mistake, but a stupid thing to do. Wall outlets are
120V AC, which can kill (Not will). I never touch any AC lines or alike
without checking it with my DMM to see if the lines are hot. I hope you are
getting taught MUCH better electrical safety than that.

sensors....

where can i get some of that? ... is it actually a piano String?? ... i have
been experimenting with guitar string...but it's a bit to expensive to "mess
around with" ... i went out to my local craft store (the rag shop) and
picked up some Floral stem wire ... it was less than $1 for like 30 24inch
pieces!! .. i got the 20gauge..i think it might be a bit too stiff..
