6229 Wed, 29 Sep 1999 09:30:48 -0500 [alt-beam] master/slave bicore "Beam@Sgiblab. Sgi. Com" "Phillip A. Ryals" ok, after struggling with it some more, I just resigned myself to using
springs for now. That seems to work ok... btw, the spring out of a stapler
works great. I cut it in half and attached it to a pin under the bot.
Maybe once I learn more I'll figure out how to do it without springs.

Now, this is my very first walker, so I'm experimenting with how to change
it's walking. The front legs don't lift quite as high as I've seen on the
others. Looking through some of the old messages, I found one that seemed
to imply that using HCT's could be a problem that way. He said he went with
AC's and got more leg movement. Anyone know what I'm talking about?

The reason I'm asking is because my bot's back legs rarely ever come off the
ground. And the front legs only raise 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch. It does walk
forward, but it can't really handle obstacles very well.

Hope my constant questions don't bother the more learned of you.

Thanks tons,
par
