Subject: [alt-beam] memory chips

Does anyone know a suitable substitute or replacement
for a AT45D041JC memory chip? anything out of the
digikey catalogue that could replace this chip? I
don't care about the capacity just if it's compatable.
Thanks.

--=====================_938259082==_

allright, things are quiet around here, so i thought i'd share this with
the world.
I wanted my walker (LOTUS) to chirp when it reversed, but only when it
reversed. Also, I wanted the chirps to be a very realistic Cricket sound.

all the chirper circuits i could find were less then satisfactory, so me
and Bruce Robinson (Bruce_Robinson@bc.sympatico.ca) came up with this...
little thingy.
--ok, ok, mostly Bruce came up with it, but he left it up to me to test
resistor and cap values.
actually we both learned alot about the 555 and 556 timer ICs ...pretty
interesting stuff!

You see, the thing was, all the other chirp circuits just were designed to
produce a "beep beep beep" at the same predetermined pitch and tone. you
could change the rate and such, but the beeps would still be constant. for
example you could change it to "beeeep beeeep beeeep beeeep" but it was
still too constant and mechanical.

what we came up with was to come up with a pause between a SET of beeps (if
that makes any sense) what resulted was a very realistic(and family
annoying) cricket-like sound.
you could play with the pause between each indiv. beep, and then a pause
between a number of indiv beeps.
what i like best came out to be a
"beepa-beepa-beepa-beepa.........beepa-beepa-beepa-beepa........"
and here it is for you all to enjoy.
Thanks to Wilf for your suggestions,
and if you want to know HOW to hook it up to your Inverters, jus ask.
-Sparky
PS...
i noticed the Volume increases with higher voltage battery...
is there a way to hook up a transistor or something btween the circuit and
Vcc to boost it up for louder sound?
My servos whirrr kinda loud.
thanx!
