Hi ZUlu,

Depends on whether you use it to drive a motor directly or connect it to an
h-bridge as the motor driver. If used directly , a 74HC139 can only supply
about 10-20ma with significant voltage drop. Not enough for most
applications. You probably need a 74AC139 and preferably connect the two
sections together to double the current. That way you can handle 70-100ma of
motor current with little voltage drop which is enough to drive a small
motor. With an h-bridge for motor driver you can use a 72HC139 and drive
bigger motors.

6082 Tue, 14 Sep 1999 22:42:01 -0400 [alt-beam] Re#2: LED Screen Anyone? beam@sgiblab.sgi.com SG hey Steve, I changed my mind...
be too hard to figgure out an unknown LCD display with no specs.
lets werk with the 3" X 2" (model number MEG12864) display sold by Jameco
at:
http://www.jameco.com/cfm/viewdesc.cfm?part_num=163176

the specs are available at:
http://www.microelect.com/lcd.htm
(the manufacturer)

that way we know what to deal with. Remember.. all i want is to read a txt
file from a floppy hooked up to the booger.
(even though this is a graphic interface, i want to display more than just
4 lines of txt at no predetermined size)
wattya think?
