Nice Tripod!

I strongly reccomend that you add a series resistor between the junction
of D1 and R2, and the
junction of C1 and Pin 2. The value of this will moderate the range of
bright to dark behaviors.

With pager motors, power drain is a problem eh? Hmm, how much wheel
slippage do you
have with this design?

Well, there's some, but not too much. The rubber thingys are pretty soft. =
It's got a nice wiggle to it when it walks, though.
