i have some other circuits that Bruce and i have been
playing around with, but we'll test your ideas out and
report back!
activating a soundeffect or LED or watever while in reverse
proved pretty easy with Ian's bicore once you and Bruce
showed me how!
So far, i've got a good beep...beep...beep from a 556 IC
but too
uniform and pulsed to actually be considered "Crickety"
even though the tone and frequency seemed to be about right.

Bruce and i found we were working with a simple "Piezo Buzzer"
where the actual structure of the speaker determines its pitch
and tone. A piezeo elemnt is something different and is more
veristile in sound effect applications....
I just dug up one (has 3 leads instead of two) and can't wait
to try your idea!
