Nice bot Ian. Although it has absolutely nothing to do with the contest goals,
I'll accept it as a legitimate entry. ;)

How is LANL going?

5707 Fri, 13 Aug 1999 17:48:06 -0600 [alt-beam] Re: 245 reverser beam@sgiblab.sgi.com Richard Piotter The circuit should do. I just need to know if a single chip will run BG
Micro motors if the two reversers on teh chip are just placed in paralell.

I'll be using one 245 per motor (unless it becomes necessary to stack them).

Do you know how Cricket or the 3 motor lynxmotion hexapod move... same
mechanics. it's the two motors that move each of the side legs that
reverse. I don't think I need the middle (lift) motor to reverse, but
I'll include the wiring for it just incase.

Each side motor reverses in order to achieve a turning gait. If both
reverse, then the bot backs up. That's the basics. I just want to know
if rather than stacking, I can just tie both motor outputs and microcore
inputs together instead.

that this and tilden's Spyder are VERY different. This one also would
walk in a completely different fashion. I wish I would have finished so
I could have entered it! Theoreticly, I could have it walking within a
week, but I doubt I could implement turning. I also was working on
Hexapod. Oh well. Maybe I can rush and finish it at least for the
meeting this Thursday.

5709 Fri, 13 Aug 1999 21:29:19 -0300 [alt-beam] magbot alt-beam@egroups.com michael.hirtle@ns.sympatico.ca (Michael Hirtle) hello list i am sorry to bother u but i have a few questions that needs answering
well here it is, i want to make a mabot (not the mobile kind it will be like the
like the sundancer butterfly without wings)
and i want to make it able to junp 6" into the air and then come back down i think
i can do this by useing three 4700 but if this will not work could u suggest
another cap but i want to have 3 of them because i want it to look like a symet.
(this one's for you Dave) Will the coil at solarbotics hold up to the three 4700
caps with out damaging it?
Witch(sp) voltage triger (the ones at solarbotics) would u recomend I use to
unleash the full fury of the cap on "major henry" (the solarbotics coil)?
