Subject: [alt-beam] SE Circuit

I've made the FLED SE Circuit from the Beam-Online schematic and I've
checked it against other schematics. My Capacitor (4700uF or 10000uF)
charges up to 3.05 volts and the red led flashes to it's hearts content,
but the motor never fires. If I move the motor contacts in any way(IE
pick up the motor), the circuit discharges except that it doesn't move the
motor, it just looses all stored energy. (BTW this is a breadboarded
circuit). To check the circuit and motor, I attached a pair of AA
batteries instead of the solar cells. When I do this, the motor runs and
the LED flashes, but if I pull the FLED out of the circuit, it makes no
difference, the motor still runs. I've been struggling with this circuit
for quite a while now, and I cannot for the life of me figure out the
problem. It doesn't seem like the capacitor is being used in the
diagramed configuration. The instant I remove the batteries, the FLED
stops and the motor stops. I've tried with several motors. Currently I'm
using some pagermotors I got from BGMicro (they use a lot of current 75mA,
and 1.5volts) But I've tried with a couple of Walkman motors too and the
same thing happens. As I said, with the solar cells, the circuit never
fires. Any help would be appreciated (just so you know, I've freeformed
working H-Bridges and a Microcore, so I'm PRETTY sure I can read a circuit
diagram correctly.)
