Hey, can anyone tell me where I can get some really small capacitors that are
around 2200-4700µF ?

Digikey, or Radio Shack if you want a whole bag of useless ones too.

5429 Mon, 26 Jul 1999 22:06:35 -0500 [alt-beam] My new Digital Camera BEAM Richard Piotter Well, Not so BEAM related now, but I'm about to take new pictures of ALL
my robots. High quality!!! I'll Be posting pics of Spyder (I've had
request for that one!!!) as well as all my other bots, including detail
shots. The camera has a 20 cm (8 inch) macro lens, so it'll get some
EXCELENT close ups.

Within the week, I'll be adding new pics. I'll announce it when it goes
up. Also, some new bots by myself, never before seen will get their own
sections. A TINY hexapod, a head, and any other stuff I come up with.

There are several "mechanics only" bots. I need to stock up on 240s and
some other misc parts. Soon I'll also have my Tuner/Capture/Accelerator
card, and will add videos of more interesting bots (I'll be keeping them
small and few though.

Future bots... Expect a snake or possibly a worm type robot, inspired by
Mod-worm, more bots moving, and posibly an Apple Powerbook 1400cs gone
BEAM! (:

More to come!

I don't think thats going to happen.

The smallest (decent for BEAM) caps I've ever found are about 9 by 12 mm, at
only 1,500 uf each. 3 of these drive a small photovore very well, and fit
under
a 2224 solar cell along with the motors and SE's.

These caps were SMT devices, which had the small plastic frame at the bottom
of the cap removed. Once this is done, you have what looks like a normal cap
but
with flat leads.

I've seen rows of these 1,500 uf caps on SMT boards, but never anything larger
in
value, or at least nothing larger used in Laptop computer motherboards.
