Subject: [alt-beam] servos
hey all;
i just got my head to work!
when i hooked the servo up to a regular bicore ( just like on Ian's site)
with a 1.6m ohm. restistor the servo turns counter-clockwise, an 1/16
turn and then it turns clockwise almost a 1/8 turn, the servo goes in
this ratchet like cycle untill it gets to the stop built in the
case...shouldn't the servo turn one way and then turn back the other way
the same amount? using a metronome ( the clicking thing used to keep
time in music) i tested the bicore with led's and it works right on time
until i plugged in the servo. The led's started to flash faster and they
lost a rhythm. i'm using an als245 driver with 2 buffers for each lead to
the servo ( 100ma, i think) . Is this normal of the bicore to do this?
how could a walker go straight if the servo never turned the same amount?
is it a servo? is there a reason it likes to turn clockwise ? what's up?
thanks
matt
