Yes, I see what you mean. I still don't think it really matters though. I'll
bet you that later, when they build their umpteenth Bicore, they will rely
less and less on those tried and true arrangements. I think BEAM is like
building models. At first you get your feet wet building kits and following
instructions. But, once you get some experience, you move on to original
designs and applications. You start to incorporate your own ideas into the
mix. But hey, even if you don't, you still have an impressive piece of work
to show off. That is actually my favorite aspect of BEAM. I'm not so sure
that it's really important for everyone to become a hard core roboticist.
Besides, the Discovery Channel doesn't have that much air time :).
